My PhD studies  on the structural virology of the murid Herpesvirus 4 (MuHV-4). I’m currently focused on two proteins involved in MuHV-4 DNA replication and maintenance in latent infected hosts. As MuHV-4 is genetically and structurally related to Kaposi’s Sarcoma Herpesvirus, as well as to the Epstein-Barr Virus, the aim is to contribute for the understanding of how these proteins distinctively take part in viral latency machinery and to highlight structural motifs that may display significant interest for antiviral therapy.
